A 64-year-old Egg Harbor Township man died early Monday, Feb 10th when his car hit the back of a trash truck while driving on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.

Driver Hits Trash Truck on Black Horse Pike

According to Hamilton Twp. Police, William P Hadley, 64, of Egg Harbor Township was driving a 2008 Lexus ES3 westbound on the Black Horse Pike near Atlantic Cape Community College at about 5:15 am on Monday, Feb 10th when he collided with the rear of a privately owned trash & recycling truck.

The truck was being driven by by Juan Taveras-Trinidad, 40, from Pleasantville, who was also traveling westbound.

In a press release, police say Hadley suffered serious injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The trash truck driver was not injured at the crash scene.

 Black Horse Pike Closed For Investigation

Hamilton Twp Police say the Black Horse Pike westbound was closed for several hours between Cologne Avenue and ACCC as they investigated the crash.

The Hamilton Rescue Squad, Atlanticare Paramedics, the New Jersey Department of Transportation and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office asisted with the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
