Jason Kelce Challenged to Arm Wrestle USA Women’s Rugby Star
Jason Kelce may be a retired professional athlete, but he still has a competitive spirit.
While attending the 2024 Paris Olympics, Kelce was challenged to an arm wrestling match by the star of the Team USA Rugby squad, Nicole Heavirland.
The Olympian, 29, has shared a video of the battle on Instagram so we all can watch it!
Jason Kelce Arm Wrestles With Women's Rugby Player at Olympics
In this corner, former Philadelphia Eagle, future Hall of Famer, Jason Kelce, at 6' 3" tall and weighing 282 pounds vs. Team USA rugby star Nicole Heavirland, in this corner, coming in at 5"5" tall and tipping the scales at 145 pounds in a battle of arm wrestling!
That's pretty much how it went on Sunday in the Olympic Village when Heaviland challenged Kelce to an arm wrestle as her teammates stood by cheering her on.
This sounds like a tough situation for Jason. Win, by pinning a woman who weighs half as much as you, and you risk looking like a big bully. Lose, and, well..you will NEVER live it down.
The Kelces Are at the Paris Olympics
Jason Kelce told the Associated Press that he and his wife Kylie jumped at the chance to go to the Olympics, where they had the chance to support Team USA in field hockey, a sport that Kylie played in college.
Kylie said she had "always wanted" to attend the Olympics, adding that she and Jason were "happy to be there".
After watching Team USA's women's rugby team win back-to-back games against Japan and Brazil on Sunday, the Kelces went to visit the team in their locker room, where the ladies convinced Jason to declare, "I am officially a fan of women's rugby, Olympics".
Jason Kelce Wins, But Did He Hold On to the Table?
As you will see in the attached video, Jason Kelce was victorious over Nicole Heavirland in the arm wrestling match, but Heaviiland added in comments on her Instagram post that, "jason.kelce holding on to that table a little bit".
Kelce responded in the comments, writing, "Holding onto something with your off-hand is completely within the rules of the International Federation of Arm Wrestling."
