A popular greeting card and gift shop has announced a tentative opening date for a new location in Somers Point.

Norman's Hallmark, the nation’s largest independent owner of Gold Crown Hallmark stores, is opening in Ocean Heights Plaza for what it described as a superstore location.

It’s tentatively slated to open on Friday, June 9  at 319 Bethel Road, taking over the former space of the Pier 1 Imports store at the ShopRite-anchored property.

Somers Point was home to another Hallmark store until the owners of Donna's Hallmark in the Somers Point Plaza decided to retire and closed the store in early 2022.

The new 6000-square-foot Somers Point Norman's Hallmark store will mark the company’s continued expansion in South Jersey, following recent openings in Mullica Hill, Woodstown, Deptford, and Turnersville.

Norman's Hallmark is a great place to get a greeting card, but they also offer fashion apparel and accessories, books, stationery, games, home décor, specialty candy and gourmet foods.

By my count, the Somers Point Store will be the 73rd Norman's hallmark location in NJ, PA, DE, and MD.

In a release, Howard Henschel, Norman’s CEO and president said the company is eager to join the Somers Point business community.

“We are excited to be opening one of our larger, full-format stores in Somers Point, and look forward to bringing customers the quality brands and great service for which Norman’s Hallmark is known.”
