From New Jersey to Cleveland: Super Bowl Quarterback Signs With New Team
Over the last 60 years, only 34 men who play the Quarterback position have won a Super Bowl Championship.
It is one of the most exclusive groups in North American sports, with fewer members than men who have won The Masters (54) and NBA MVP Award (35).
An even more exclusive club is the three men who are NFL Quarterbacks from New Jersey who have won a Super Bowl Championship. The newest member, Kenny Pickett, was the Philadelphia Eagles' backup Quarterback when the Birds won Super Bowl 59.
This offseason, the Eagles traded Pickett, a graduate of Ocean Township High School, to the Cleveland Browns. A month after that trade, the Browns signed another Quarterback from New Jersey who has also won a Super Bowl Championship.
New Jersey Quarterback Entering His 18th Year In The NFL
Twelve Years after winning Super Bowl 47 with the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Flacco will continue his NFL career in 2025 with an AFC North Division Rival.
Flacco has rejoined the Cleveland Browns, and he is expected to compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting Quarterback job this upcoming season. The 6'6" QB from South Jersey started five games for the Browns in 2023.
After playing 11 seasons with the Ravens, Flacco went on to start games for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, and the aforementioned Browns.
Flacco spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2021 NFL Preseason but never played any regular-season games for Philadelphia.
A couple of years ago, Joe Flacco was spending the Summer in Stone Harbor before joining the Cleveland Browns in 2023. Flacco will have less time to spend at his South Jersey Shore House this summer as he is preparing to play his 18th NFL season.
Flacco is one of 15 Quarterbacks from New Jersey who played games in the NFL Regular Season:
