
12-hour police stand-off ends peacefully in Washington Twp., NJ
A 12-hour police stand-off with a barricaded man ended peacefully in Gloucester County early Sunday morning.
The Washington Township Police Department says that at about 5:45 Saturday afternoon, their officers responded to a crisis intervention call involving a 35-year-old barricaded man in the Crosspointe Development.
That unidentified man had threatened self-harm and was seen by officers inside the home holding a piece of glass against his throat.
Cops quickly established a perimeter and began crisis negotiations. Acenda Integrated Health, the Washington Township Ambulance Squad, and the Gloucester County SWAT Team responded to assist.

After extensive dialogue, the man was safely taken into custody at about 6:30 Sunday morning, and he was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
No injuries were reported.
