The Egg Harbor Township Police Department recently took to Facebook to highlight the parking ban along Ocean Drive around Dog Beach.

Dog Beach, formally known as the Malibu Beach Wildlife Management Area, located along Ocean Drive (Route 152) between Longport and Ocean City, is where people can bring their furry friends to frolic on the sand and in the water.

However, parking along that stretch of Ocean Drive is strictly prohibited -- although, it wasn't always enforced in the past.

But it is now.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department appreciates the time spent by a dog at the beach with their human, but we must recognize that the safety of everyone is jeopardized when their humans park improperly and in violation of the law. Please plan accordingly to secure legal parking and have a happy and safe Summer!

Small parking lots are available on either side of Ocean Drive, however, they fill-up very quickly.

Should you be caught parking along Ocean Drive, you'll be fined $200 and have to pay a minimum $135 storage fee if your vehicle gets towed.
