Cops in Camden County say a simple illegal turn turned into a big gun arrest Thursday night.

At about 8:45 PM, a Haddon Township police officer conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing an illegal turn at Collings Avenue and Crescent Boulevard.

Cops say the driver, Alexander Zamot, was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest.

After a further investigation, a search of his vehicle allegedly uncovered a loaded .38 caliber Taurus 856 revolver that was hidden under the driver's seat.

Zamot was taken into custody, processed, and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Handgun Without a Permit
Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons

He was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending a detention hearing.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
