The New Jersey State Police is asking for help as they continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash on Route 55 in lower Gloucester County over the weekend.

Authorities say just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon, September 8th, 62-year-old William Baldwin of Newfield was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the eastbound Route 40 on-ramp onto southbound Route 55.

According to troopers, while traveling on the on-ramp near milepost 39.2, Baldwin lost control of the motorcycle, veered left, struck a curb, and entered the southbound lanes of Route 55 where he was hit and ejected by an unknown vehicle.

An investigation at the scene revealed that the unknown vehicle had at least one set of tandem tires and it left the scene before troopers arrived.
