Mike Tyson has deep boxing roots in Atlantic City, New Jersey during the prime of his professional boxing career … when President Donald Trump signed “Iron Mike” a multi-fight contract.

Tyson in Atlantic City was a magical time, when Atlantic City was the boxing capital of the world.

Don Hurley wrote a definitive feature cover story in the Boardwalk Journal about Tyson in March, 2014, titled: “The Greatest Comeback.”

At the time, Don Hurley wrote in part:

People love a great comeback and Mike Tyson's story to date is nothing short of miraculous. Michael Gerard Tyson has probably lived more lives in his 47 years on this earth than any other human being of his generation. The latest and perhaps most genuine incarnation of the ever evolving "Iron" Mike Tyson was recently back on the Atlantic City Boardwalk to perform his one-man auto-biographical show "Undisputed Truth" before a sold-out, standing room only audience at Caesars Hotel & Casino. He's lived dirt poor in the tenements of Brownsville, Brooklyn, where he was born and raised; he's lived the life of a king in penthouse suites all across the world as the most prolific prizefighter since the great Muhammad Ali and he's been to prison,” wrote Don Hurley.

One of the most memorable Tyson fights in Atlantic City was on June 27, 1988.

My wife Margie and I attended this Heavyweight Championship fight versus then Champion Michael Spinks on Margie’s Birthday.

Tyson was unstoppable at this stage of his career and he defeated Spinks by knockout in just 91 seconds.

Tyson fought in Atlantic City during my casino executive career. Tyson was an undefeated 13-0 when he fought in Atlantic City.

Here are some Mike Tyson photos over the years when Tyson was in Atlantic City.
