Kane Brown’s "One Mississippi" has officially made its way to the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase country airplay charts this week.

Released in August of 2021, the flirtatious tune finds Brown counting drinks and hours as he details a relationship that always seems to start back up when the couple runs into one another at the bar.

Brown celebrated the achievement on Twitter, with a graphic thanking country radio.

The Tennessee-born singer wrote “One Mississippi” with Enerst K. Smith, Jesse Frasure and a new writer named Levon Gray. Brown became aware of Gray after the up-and-coming songwriter tagged him in an Instagram post. Brown then invited Gray to a writing session with himself, Smith and Frasure, which is where the hit song was born.

Gray was signed to Brown’s publishing company, Verse 2 Music, not long after.

"I asked [Smith and Frasure] if they would write with a new writer, that nobody in Nashville had heard before,” Brown tells Country Now. "They gave him a chance, and it was kind of like his audition. He came into the writing session with the title 'One Mississippi.' I kinda sat back and let him take charge, to see how he was gonna do."

"One Mississippi" marks Brown’s 7th No. 1 song, following "Famous Friends," his hit collaboration with Chris Young. Brown is set to perform a new song called "Leave You Alone" on the 2022 ACM Awards on Monday, March 7.
