A local chef from Wildwood Crest received national attention as a top contestant of 'The Taste.'

Unfortunately, she didn't make the cut last night!  I was so bummed!

As of last night, Mia Chiarella, or ‘Chefarella’ was sent home. The executive chef of Mia Ristorante in Wildwood Crest lasted three weeks on the show.  This isn’t the first time we’ve had someone represent South Jersey in food, Nicole Gaffney of Brigantine competed on ‘Food Network Star’ back in August.

Mia wanted to honor her sister Gia, who passed away after Christmas 1998, but her success won’t end on ‘The Taste’.

According to the Press of Atlantic City,

"She said she’s already been contacted to be on other television shows, and was invited to travel to Italy to cook for a wine tour."

This was also the second time Mia had received national attention, she once also appeared on ‘Kitchen Casino’ on the Food Network.
