Local Football Coach Passes Suddenly; Team To Honor Him

The community of Northfield will honor a fallen coach tonight.

Jimmy Hoopes had served for years as a football coach for Northfield’s Pee-Wee division in the Atlantic County Junior Football League. Hoopes recently passed away, leaving a void in the town’s football program.  Hoopes was considered a mentor to many young men in Northfield.

A salute to Coach Hoopes will take place this evening at 7:00 at the boys major league field at Birch Grove Park. Current and past players are invited to gather and walk the bases in honor of a man who will be missed.
