This is my best travel tip so you won't be caught off guard when you and your family are traveling by airplane this summer!

ALWAYS pack one carry-on bag.

You never know if your luggage will wind up at a different vacation spot than you and your family. If you travel a lot, then it's just a matter of time before your bag gets routed to a different place. I have traveled quite a bit and my luggage was only "lost" once and this pro-tip saved my butt (and my family's butts).

Here is what you do:

Keep it small and simple. A backpack is best because it can count as a 'personal item'. Pack the following fundamentals for your carry-on (if you have more room, pack more):

  • Basic toiletries for everyone (toothbrush, deodorant)
  • Something to sleep in for everyone
  • 1 change of day time clothes for everyone. If you bag is lost, air airline might not be able to get your bag to you for a day or two. This will buy you some time, clothing wise, and you will still feel fresh and clean.

You'll be surprised by keeping it simple, how many fundamentals you can get into a backpack or small carry-on, that can keep you comfy for a couple of days if your luggage gets lost! Chances are, you'll never have to use your 'panic pack', but it never hurts to have it.

Don't forget to consider flying from ATLANTIC CITY INTERNATIONAL when planning your travel. My family and I have flown out of ACY many times and the comfort and convenience can't be beat. Plus you get to see local South Jersey employees working hard to make sure your vacation or travel plans are as smooth as can be (and they have NEVER lost my luggage).
