Beachwood, New Jersey is joining their southern neighbors in Bayville with their very own dinosaur. Since the 1930s Bayville has had Bud the dinosaur, greeting people as they drive by. Unfortunately, Bud has the habit of losing his head and was recently restored late last year. The masonry company that is responsible for restoring Bud has now started construction on a brand new dinosaur in Beachwood.

The Sand Castle Diner on Atlantic City Ave (Route 9) in Beachwood will be the new home for this brand new dinosaur. According to Berkeley Patch, "Mark Stanfield of Empire Masonry has been eating at the Sand Castle Diner for 25 years. After his company reconstructed Bud the Bayville Dinosaur, he had an idea for another creation."

Stanfield sketched out his idea to show to the owner of the diner, where he has done work in the past. He created the frame at home before placing it under the diner's sign, where the rest of the work will be done.

Stanfield told Berkeley Patch that the new dinosaur should be finished in the next few days. The concrete will be poured in the frame, lights will be put inside, and the sculpture will be painting on site. Once completed the dinosaur will live under the Sand Castle Diner's sign along Route 9.
