Bayside State Prison

According to a report on prisonsinfo.com, the New Jersey prison system is home to over 20,000 inmates. Inmates serving 6 years make up approximately 47% of the population, 5 years 17%, and Nine years 33%, with roughly 3% serving longer sentences.

The Vineland Daily Journal is reporting that a search is underway this morning for a man who escaped custody at Bayside State Prison in Leesburg, Cumberland County.

The escaped prisoner, Arthur Buckel, was spotted at the Forked River rest area on the Garden State Parkway last night, but he was not captured.

UPDATE: Earlier reports that the subject has been found are said to be false says the Winslow Police Department. He is still on the run. Word this morning is that a man has escaped from the Bayside Prison unit at Ancora Psychiatric Unit in South Jersey.
