Three houses were destroyed in an early Friday morning fire in Sea Isle City.

According to the City of Sea Isle City, their police department received a call about smoke in the area of the Townsends Inlet Bridge around 5:30 Friday morning. Responding officers located a house that was on fire at 9107/9019 Pleasure Avenue. Two neighboring homes, 9101 and 9111/9113, quickly caught fire as well.

A press release states,

The Cape May County Fire Marshall's Office along with Detectives from the Sea Isle City Police and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office continue their investigation into the cause of the fire. There was extensive damage to three total structures, one single family and two duplex dwellings. A fireman on the scene received treatment for a minor injury. Further information will be released when the investigation is complete.
