Three people were injured, including one critically, after cops say two ATVs crashed on Columbia Road in Mullica Township late Friday night.

According to Mullica Township Police, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Columbia Road around 10:20 Friday night. Arriving officers found two people lying in the road with head injuries.

The two people, a 14-year-old who sustained critical injuries and 42-year-old James Kraus of Egg Harbor Township, were both taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden for treatment.

An investigation revealed that four people on two ATVs crashed into each other. Cops say one of the ATVs left the roadway and struck a tree.

One of the ATV's was operated by James Kraus, the other was operated by 20-year-old Aaron Kraus of EHT -- the passenger on that ATV was a 16-year-old who was treated for minor injuries at AtlantiCare.

Both drivers will be facing a wide range of traffic offense-related charges. Cops also say both drivers are suspected to have been drinking alcohol prior to the crash and DUI charges are pending as well.
