Several ACPD officers happened to see a car parked directly under a "no stopping" sign in Atlantic City. That observation led to two people being arrested -- one after his pants fell down.

Authorities say the scene unfolded around 5:30 last Friday evening when three ACPD officers of the Tourism District Unit were patrolling the area around the 1500 block of Belfield Avenue. According to a press release, they observed a vehicle parked directly under a “No Stopping or Standing” sign.

As the officers approached, the driver, 34-year-old Kiki Priester of Atlantic City exited the vehicle and started to speak with an officer who could smell burnt marijuana.

The passenger, 34-year-old Richard Norwood of Atlantic City, exited the vehicle. The officers attempted to speak with Norwood, but he immediately began to run. Officers chased him and while he was running, cops say he was throwing things, which turned-out to be 39 bags of cocaine. Norwood was arrested after he tripped when his pants fell down. He was also found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and an active warrant.

Priester was arrested and officers also located a small amount of marijuana and marijuana cigarettes in her vehicle.

Norwood was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and contempt of court.

Priester was charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, contempt of court, and a motor vehicle summons.

Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
