Celebrate National Kissing Day with a Music Festival and More
On June 22nd, several events and observances took center stage, marking a mix of celebration and reflection. This date celebrates the 1847 invention of the donut, a beloved treat that continues to delight taste buds across the nation. Additionally, the date is notable for the release of the iconic film "The Karate Kid" in 1984, a film that many remember fondly.
In the realm of quirky celebrations, National Kissing Day and Onion Rings Day were acknowledged, sparking curiosity about the overlap of such observances. Today also marks Take Your Cat to Work Day, a fun occasion encouraging pet owners to bring their feline friends into their workplaces.
However, not all news of the day was lighthearted. A tragic event occurred in Buoie, Maryland, where three individuals lost their lives in a plane crash late Saturday night. The small plane had taken off from Ocean City, New Jersey, en route to Gaithersburg, Maryland. As of now, the identities of the victims remain undisclosed.
In local developments, a proposal has emerged for transforming the long-closed Duberson School in Maze Landing, New Jersey, into a housing project comprising 69 units, presented by a Philadelphia-based developer.
On a brighter note, the Barefoot Country Music Festival in Wildwood reported a thriving turnout, with sold-out crowds enjoying performances over four consecutive nights. Eric Church headlined the event, which featured over 40 musical artists and multiple stages. The festival is set to return next year, with dates already scheduled for June 17th through the 20th.
The weather forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies, with breezy and humid conditions, and a chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Local residents also received birthday shout-outs, as a way to foster community connection.
In light-hearted interactions, trivia questions and jokes were shared, engaging the audience with queries about their favorite performances from the music festival. This sense of community underscores the importance of local events and celebrations, cementing their role in shaping shared experiences.

I do a little about I'm trying to move in the future. Uh, we found on Tik Tok this medical student who gives [music] in 90 seconds perhaps the best how to live your life safely advice I've ever heard from real life experience. You're going to want to take notes. That's how good this is. [music] You're going to want to take notes because I could say [music] this is the definitive this is the definitive list of how to live your life healthy [music] going forward. This is the best advice ever. I am a fourth year medical student who just finished my emergency medicine rotation. And these are things I will never be doing again after spending a month in the emergency department. Getting a motorcycle or as we like to call them in the emergency department, donor bikes, honking my horn. I saw two fatal conclusions to road rage incidents and I never want to have to experience that ever. Going immediately when the light turns green. This is just a guaranteed way to get yourself into a car accident. Wow. So, just to get the easy ones out of the way, always going to be wearing my seatelt, always going to be wearing a helmet, never going to be smoking, and never going to be operating any machinery at all while intoxicated in any way. Okay, now that we got those out of the way, uh never going to be owning a trampoline. Uh those are just accidents waiting to happen. Also, when you're in the car and you're the passenger, don't put your feet up on the dashboard. you were just asking for trouble. I will also be doing everything physically possible to deescalate a situation that I'm in so it does not resort to physical violence. Wow. Third and final part of things that I will never do after spending a month in the emergency room as a fourth year medical student. One, ATVs. A lot of people brought this up and I 100% agree. They are just an accident waiting to happen. petting a stranger's dog without asking the owner first. That is a recipe for disaster that will 100% end with hear that. That's the sound of busy. To a restaurant, all that shouting and banging might as well be a symphony. It means the long days and longer nights are paying off. Sure, it's noisy, but there's a worse sound. This not busy. Busy means business, which is why Toast gives restaurants the tools and tech they need to help them perform under pressure. Sounds pretty good, right? Toast. Bill for busy.
