Vineland police say a man has been arrested in connection to multiple burglaries in the city.

Cops say they have been investigating numerous burglaries at businesses in Vineland over the past few months. In each case, a person(s) forced their way into a business in the middle of the night and stole cash and cigarettes.

Last Friday, members of the Vineland Police Department Detective Bureau and Anti-Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 500 block of S. 4th St. and arrested 31-year-old Luis J. Colon.

According to authorities, evidence linking Colon to these burglaries was located during the execution of the search warrant.

Colon is charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief for incidents that allegedly occurred at El Nueveo Ranchero, Giant Laundromat, and B's Market, all on West Chestnut Avenue; and also at Jenny's Supermarket and La Orocovena Restaurant, both on S. Delsea Drive.

Vineland Police believe Colon did not act alone during these crimes and additional arrests are expected.

Colon was processed and transported to the Cumberland County Jail pending a detention hearing.
