Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam wants to find out if legalized marijuana can be the savior for Atlantic City.

Gilliam has confirmed on his Facebook page that he's headed for Nevada next week for a fact-finding mission, to determine if legalizing marijuana could help the city formerly  known as "America's Favorite Playground." (Wait. Are we still "America's Favorite Playground"? I can't keep track.)

The mayor's Facebook page points out that he's paying for the trip out of his own pocket:

According to NJ.com, the mayor is "headed to Nevada for a brief "fact-finding" trip next week to learn from another casino-operating state's experience of launching a marijuana economy seven months ago."

Just for the record, I'd like to point out that I made a Legalize-Pot-in-Atlantic-City recommendation back in 2014! Check this out.
