Cops in Atlantic City say a man wanted for his involvement in an armed robbery where he shot himself was arrested while attempting to burglarize a vehicle.

According to a press release, authorities responded to the Bally’s parking garage around 9:00 Friday morning in reference to security officers who detained 25-year-old Thomas Bryant of Atlantic City after he attempted to burglarize a vehicle. Cops say Bryant was taken into custody after he was found to have active warrants for his arrest.

Bryant was wanted for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred during the early morning hours of October 20th. In that case, officers responded to an alley off of the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue where Bryant robbed a man of his money at gunpoint. During the robbery, Bryant’s gun went off and he was shot in the hand. Cops say he fled before officers arrived, but he later checked himself into Inspira Medical Center in Vineland for his injury. Hospital personnel notified police and Bryant admitted he was shot in Atlantic City.

Bryant was charged with aggravated assault, robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
