Cape May Decides Against Smoke-Free Public Spaces
Cape May has decided against banning smoking on its beaches, public parks and oceanfront walkway — for now, at least.
The city council in the resort city and New Jersey’s southern tip voted 2-2 on the ban at Monday’s meeting with one council member absent.
That means the ban isn’t going into effect.
But anti-smoking activists say they’re optimistic that council will bring the issue up again soon.
