On the list of things we have had to put up with in 2020, we can now add "driving face-first into a firehose" to the list.

I'm writing this from the parking lot of Hamilton Mall as an incredibly heavy thunderstorm is moving through.

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seen rain this heavy before.

As someone who has been storm chasing in the Plains before and is a life-long weather nerd, I have a tremendous respect for Mother Nature. And knowing how to drive in bad weather, I can usually get through just about anything -- but tonight's storm is insane.

The lightning is incredible and its like being in a car wash trying to get around.

If you do have to venture out, strongly consider letting these storms pass and do not drive through big puddles.
