Remember when Jersey skies were on everyone's mind because of all of the weird vehicle-sized drones that were spotted hovering over our skies? It was a weird time to be in Jersey, and to this day, we still don't know exactly what the drones were for.

A Loud Boom Was Heard Across New Jersey

Once again, New Jersey's skies are at the center of attention after an afternoon fireball lit up the skyline, accompanied by an incredibly loud boom that could be heard for miles and miles.

A Meteor Was Spotted Flying Across Several States Including New Jersey

The fireball in question was a meteor, according to NJ.com, that was first spotted over the Atlantic Ocean and could be seen from several states outside of Jersey. At one point, the meteor was traveling nearly 30 thousand miles per hour!

Where Did The Meteor Eventually Break Apart?

The meteor eventually disintegrated 27 miles in the sky above Galloway, near Atlantic City.

How Far Did The New Jersey Meteor Travel?

This is wild, and in total, the meteor traveled a total of 117 miles before finally breaking apart.

In total, the meteor was seen flying for a total of roughly five minutes, between 2:35 and 2:40 PM, before it finally broke up.
