Going To The Jersey Shore? Don’t Forget These Important Skin Protection Tips
Stay Safe In The Sun This Summer
Sunny skies and warm temperatures have New Jerseyans spending more and more time outdoors. And with UV Safety Awareness Month coming up in New Jersey, here's a little friendly reminder of the importance of wearing sunscreen and protecting our skin from those harmful UV rays.

I just went to the dermatologist the other day for a skin check, and the doctor emphasized the importance of wearing sunscreen every day.
The Mayo Clinic says it only takes about 15 minutes for the sun to cause skin damage, and medications can increase your sensitivity to the sun. Here are some ways they recommend protecting your skin from the sun.
How To Protect Your Skin From UV Rays This Summer
- Avoid the sun between 10 am and 4 pm.
- Use sunscreen when outdoors, with the American Academy of Dermatology recommending that you use at least SPF 30 and reapply every two hours. If you're swimming or sweating, reapply right after.
- Wear sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection.
- Perform regular skin checks.
- Protect children's skin.
- Don't use tanning beds.
Have fun enjoying our beautiful New Jersey beaches this summer, but don't forget the sunscreen! ☀️
