Good Movies That I Have No Desire To See Again

I’m sure some of you are like me when it comes to searching for something to watch on TV.  I will scan through a multitude of channels willing to watch one of my favorite movies for the 100^th time.  Often I’ll come across films that were highly-acclaimed award winners that I might have liked but for one reason or another have no interest in seeing against.  When they are on I move to the next channel.  Here are ten in no particular order:

1. Elephant Man (1980) - I had trouble making it through the first time.
2. The Road (2009)-A man and his son wander through a post-apocalyptic America.
3. Brokeback Mountain (2005)-Brutally honest but tough subject matter.
4. Leaving Las Vegas (1995)-Nicholas Cage drinking himself to death…”once was enough.”
5. Manchester by the Sea (2016)-I never smiled once during the movie and was emotionally drained when it was over.
6. The Irishman (2019) - 3 ½ hours long makes it a one-timer.
7. Mystic River (2003)-Great cast but very dark.
8. Kramer vs. Kramer (1979)-It’s personal. On a very cold winter night in 1980 I drove to South Amboy to see this on one of my first dates with the woman I would marry.  I’ll keep that memory alive.
9. Schindler’s List (1993)-This epic won 7 Academy Awards and it’s as powerful as they come but once or twice is simply enough.
10. (Tie)- 127 Hours, Revolutionary Road, Boys Don’t Cry, 12 Years A Slave, Requiem for a Dream, Full Metal Jacket
