Cape Child Found Living in ‘Deplorable Conditions’, 2 Charged

New Jersey State Police conducting a wellness check in Cape May County found a Woodbine child living in "deplorable conditions". Police arrested two adults at the home.

Woodbine Child Found Living in 'Deplorable Conditions'

New Jersey State Police were sent to do a well-being check at a Marcellaro Road, Woodbine home on Sunday, Jan. 21.

In a statement, police say they found that a juvenile child resided at the residence, which was in a state of deplorable conditions.

That discovery led to a joint investigation by New Jersey State Police in Woodbine and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Two Arrested at the Woodbine Home

After investigating, police arrested Kevin Storms, 35,  and Wanda Storms, 64, and charged them with one count each of endangering the welfare of a child in the 2nd degree.

Charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child Filed

Kevin Storms and Wanda Storms were processed on the charges and released pending court proceedings. The charges carry a possible 5-10 years in prison if convicted.

There was no word from the police on what happened to the child living in the home.
