An Egg Harbor Township woman is one of the 14 contestants on the newly revised Fear Factor reboot, Fear Factor: House of Fear, which premieres this Wednesday, Jan. 14th, at 9 pm, but had an advance showing on Sunday after the Eagles game broadcast.

Danielle Stephens, 41, of Egg Harbor Township, works as an aerospace engineer.

Fear Factor: House of Fear is a reality competition series on Fox TV, hosted by Johnny Knoxville, the guy who had the misfortune of being by a bull after a failed magic trick on his show, Jackass, resulting in a brain hemorrhage, broken wrist, broken rib, concussion, and lingering cognitive issues. Yikes!

The show brings 14 people together in a single area in a remote area. The series summary says the goal is to complete fear-based tasks and remain in the game until one person wins the cash prize of $200,000.

The show publicity states that the winner must prove that "fear is not a factor for them." That includes completing challenges that combine physical stunts, mental pressure, and the social aspect of living in a share house.

In an interview, Stephens told the Press of Atlantic City that a friend convinced her to try out for the show.

"And it sounded kind of crazy at first because I have seen the original 'Fear Factor' with Joe Rogan and all the crazy stunts that they did," Stephens said.

"I like to think I'm kind of adventurous; I've been skydiving, I've done scuba diving, so all the height stunts and things like that looked like it'd be fun, but then there's that little voice in the back of my head like, 'They eat bugs on that show.'"

A review tells the story of the first challenge of Fear Factor: House of Fear,  placing the contestants into a massive, vertically suspended, vacuum-sealed bag, a wild concept and visual. They can breathe thanks to tubes near their faces, but otherwise are pinched tightly in.

That would be my first and last challenge, personally, cause I am kind of a wuss when it comes to being sealed in a bag.

Fear Factor: House of Fear was shot in British Columbia in August and September 2025.

The original Fear Factor was famously hosted by Joe Rogan on NBC from 2001 to 2006 and later by Ludacris on MTV in 2017-2018.
