Atlantic City Police Endorsing Indicted Mayor Is A disgrace [Op Ed]
We have a copy of the endorsement letter. You can see it for your self below.
It is the source of great public embarrassment for the Atlantic City Police Department.
For bizarre reasons, the Atlantic City PBA have decided to formally endorse their criminally indicted Mayor, Marty Small for reelection.
The endorsement letter is glowing in nature and barely glosses over Marty Small’s current serious criminal charges.
Small’s challenger in the June 19, 2025 Democrat Primary election is Bob McDevitt.
McDEVITT SPEAKS OUT AGAINST THIS
McDevitt wrote the following public statement about the Small police department endorsement:
Welcome to "Upside Down World"! The social rot runs deep here. If you wonder why we're in so much distress you need to go no further than this putrid smelling endorsement. Help is on the way brothers and sisters! Safe, Clean Streets! wrote McDevitt.
WHY DID THE ATLANTIC CITY POLICE MAKE THIS ENDORSEMENT OF MARTY SMALL?
This is the question that many are asking, however, few seem to understand it.
ATLANTIC CITY PBA PRESIDENT WRITES DISGRACEFUL LETTER OF SUPPORT
Jules Schwenger is the PBA Local 24 President and the worst that I have covered over the past 33 years.
Look at this disgraceful sentence that Schwenger wrote about the multiple (Marty Small) child abuse and witness tampering criminal charges:
While we acknowledge that you face personal legal matters, our endorsement reflects your leadership and accomplishment in office. We trust the legal process to take its course and remain focused on choosing the best leader for Atlantic City's future. PBA Local #24 urges every member of our union to join us in reelecting you as Mayor, wrote Schwenger.
HERE IS THE ENDORSEMENT LETTER
You can process all of this on your own.
NOTE: I have been one of the biggest supporters of the Atlantic City Police Department for many decades. However, it is impossible to support this decision. It’s just plain wrong.
