Are Dollar General Gas Stations Coming to New Jersey?!
I learned something today that both shocked and amused me at the same time...
Dollar General sells gas.
Yes, there are Dollar General stores that sell gas.
The hell with Buc-ee's coming to the Garden State (I take that back... Buc-ee's, please come here!) — can you imagine the entertainment we could witness with Dollar General gas pumps in New Jersey?
Dollar General, with stores seemingly every 27 feet in some New Jersey towns, is certainly infamous for boxes in their aisles, among other things.

But in some areas, they sell cheap gas.
Sadly, not around here, though. It appears the closest DG gas pumps are in North Carolina and beyond.
But I think it's safe to assume that we won't be seeing DG gas stations anytime soon as the chain would have to hire people gas attendants in this state.
And that may also be a reason why we won't be seeing Buc-ee's anytime soon, either. Some of those stores have well over 100 gas pumps -- that's a lot of people to hire to pump fuel.

Anyway, back to DG... I did some research (i.e. I spent 12 seconds on Google) and it appears that they are the only discount chain that sells gas. I was not able to find any Family Dollar or Dollar Tree gas stations (I wonder if you'd have to add a quarter to Dollar Tree gas).
Of course, it's not unusual for stores that sell stuff to also sell gas. Walmart does, for example.
Target, apparently, does not sell gas. Not even at the handful of Super Target stores that exist (can you imagine making a Target run at a Super Target?!).
So alas fellow Garden Staters... it'll be quite a while before you'll have to drive around a stack of boxes to get to a gas pump at your local Dollar General store.
