A man with an active warrant -- and another man allegedly weighing marijuana on a scale as police watched -- have been taken off of the streets of Atlantic City.

In a press release, the Atlantic City Police Department said one of their detectives had received information regarding the location of 22-year-old Jose Lugo of Atlantic City, who had an active warrant out issued by the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office.

The detective along with other officers located Lugo on the Boardwalk around 5:00 Thursday evening.

As the detectives observed Lugo, they saw another man, Scott Snowden actively weighing marijuana on a scale as the two sat together.

The detectives converged on the pair and arrested both.

According to police, Lugo was found in possession of a loaded handgun, 24 individual bags of heroin, and 10 grams of methamphetamine; Snowden was found in possession of 68 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of an extended magazine, possession of CDS (two counts), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts), and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone

Lugo was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Snowden was released on a summons with a future court date.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
