Great job, Jersey! Apparently, for the first time in a while, we're not one of the states with the worst COVID-19 statistics!

Don't know about you, but most South Jersey residents would call that a win. According to a new study published by Wallet Hub, New Jersey's ranked as the 7th safest state in the US within the country's current COVID-19 climate. This is great news, especially when you consider that our numbers were out of control for a long time. If you look at the graph, it shows that New Jersey currently is one of the lowest on the board in terms of death rate. We've also been ranked one of the highest for vaccinations in the country. With those two specific statistics alone, that puts us in really good shape.

Obviously, not everyone necessarily wants to get the vaccine, and for various reasons. However, by the looks of this study, most residents in New Jersey have chosen to do so, with over 60% of adults choosing to get at least the first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna juice.

Some of the categories in which each state was ranked are based on components like vaccination rate, hospitalization rate, and death rate, among other things. Here's how NJ measured up based on the report:

New Jersey’s Safety During Coronavirus (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

- 6th – Vaccination Rate

- 12th – Positive Testing Rate

- 16th – Hospitalization Rate

- 15th – Death Rate

- 9th – Transmission Rate

When you compare our numbers now to those from just a few short months ago, we're come such a long way.
