The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage as winter storms across the country have canceled hundreds of blood drives. If you are able to donate blood, there are many blood drives happening in South Jersey this week.

After Typhoon Haiyan ripped through the Philippines a few days ago, the death toll continues to rise, and it may climb to more than 10,000.

Did you that giving blood can save three lives? Cat Country 107.3 and the American Red Cross are teaming up to collect blood on Monday, June 24th.

As of January 15th, the American Red Cross raised approximately $249 million for those affected by Superstorm Sandy. At the end of 2012, $110 million had been distributed to the impacted areas.

Many organizations are finding ways to help the people impacted by the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. Some that are lending a hand come from New Jersey.
