Manatee

It's very rare for a manatee to make it's way north during the warm summer months. Even more rare is a manatee in waters off South Jersey in the winter.

Ilya the manatee spent some time at Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine back in 2009. Earlier this week he was killed in Florida.

Manatees are huge, loveable creatures that populate some of the canals of Florida.
