Today, of course, is November 11, 2011, or as everyone will refer to it, "eleven eleven eleven."

And at 11:11:11 (AM or PM) on 11/11/11, you'll probably be doing one of two things to mark the occasion: continue working, not realizing you missed 11:11:11 11/11/11 until well after the time -- or you'll mark the occasion looking at a clock. Crafty people might try to take a picture of a clock at 11:11:11 on 11/11/11.

WeddingChannel.com estimates almost 25,000 people will get married today (as opposed to about 1,700 on a normal Friday in November). For the record, 07/07/07 was the biggest wedding day.

If you need a bit of good luck, the Chinese calendar claims 11/11/11 is the most successful day of the century.

Fans of the movie "Spinal Tap" are planning a celebration today. If you recall, Nigel Tufnel's amp could go to 11.

Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Today is the last of the "binary days." Nine days occur in the first eleven years of a new century containing only zeros and ones (the binary number system, commonly used in computer code, only uses zeros and ones). Chances are, you won't live to see another binary day, unless you're really young -- the next one is 89 years from now.

Regardless of the numbers, today is Veteran's Day. Whatever you find yourself doing today, regardless of the time, stop to thank and appreciate all of the Veterans that have made it possible for you to have the freedom to celebrate everything you feel like, including "eleven eleven eleven."

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. -John Fitzgerald Kennedy
