An abducted child was tracked to South Jersey and recovered last night at a local hotel.

Police in Atlantic City and Absecon acted on information received about a child abducted out of West Virginia. The child was tracked to the Holiday Inn Express on the White Horse Pike in Absecon.

According to Absecon Police:

After the suspects initially refused to answer the hotel room door several rooms on the 3rd floor were evacuated. The occupants of the accused room were eventually negotiated with over the phone and exited the room to be taken into custody.
The child was recovered. The female occupant was charged with being a fugitive from justice stemming from kidnapping charges out of West Virginia. She was lodged in county jail. The male occupant of the room was detained for questioning then released with no criminal charges. DYFS placed the child into emergency temporary custody while arrangements are made for his return to the custodial guardian.
