Brush Fire In Barnegat

A brush fire is burning in Barnegat this afternoon.

Approximately 20 acres of brush are burning near Barnegat Boulevard in Barnegat at the moment. Townsquare Media's Dan Alexander reports the blaze is roughly 50 percent contained. Expect local road closures in the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning until 8PM tonight. Gusty winds and dry conditions are making conditions favorable for the rapid spread of fires. Please continue to be extremely careful with any flames. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
