Ronnie Milsap was at the top of the country chart this week in 1974.

Ronnie Milsap continues to have a remarkable country music career. He professional music career started to slowly take-off in the mid 1960s as a R&B singer; he briefly worked with Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Elvis Presley. By 1972, after a nudge from Charley Pride, Ronnie Milsap began perusing country music. From that point on, he's won six Grammy awards and has scored 40 number one hits. His 40 chart-toppers is the third most in the format, only behind George Strait and Conway Twitty. Enjoy Ronnie Milsap performing his first number one song, "Pure Love."
