Could The Taj Open Under a New Name?

Yes, it could.  And it could open under a new name sooner rather than later.

The Taj Mahal closed its doors Monday morning, however NJ.com says that the casino's gambling license is still valid.

The casino's gambling license is still valid and doesn't have to be surrendered for several months. That could give owner Carl Icahn time to rebrand the 4.2-million-square-foot property and hire new workers.

And that could happen in the next few months.

Almost 3,000 hard working people lost their jobs Monday morning because of the closure.  The Taj is the 5th casino to close in Atlantic City in the last 2 years.
