It appears that the case of a few recent motel robberies in the Atlantic City area has been solved, after police arrested a man who attempted to rob the Comfort Suites in West Atlantic City early yesterday morning.

At 5:24am Monday, police responded to the Comfort Inn for an attempted robbery. According to police, they stopped a vehicle in the area, and arrested Emanuel Tyreke Heath, 21, of Pleasantville. With help from members of the Plesantville, Galloway, and Absecon police departments, police recovered a loaded handgun, a ski mask, and several items of clothing that linked Heath to several robberies over the last few weeks.

Mr. Heath was charged by Egg Harbor Township Police Detective Reynold Theriault with the armed robbery of the Ramada Inn, 8037 Black Horse Pike, on June 16th; the armed robbery of the Travelodge, 7095 Black Horse Pike, on June 21st; and the attempted armed robbery of the Comfort Inn Suites on June 22nd. Mr. Heath was additionally charged with being in possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. Bail was set at $100,000.00 full by the Honorable Judge Mary Siracusa.

Police say they expect more charges to be filed against Heath in the near future. He's being held in the Atlantic County Jail.
