On Friday, May 6th at 6 p.m., the community will come together to support The National Brain Tumor Society with the Light of Hope yoga event at Greate Bay Racquet and Fitness.

Light of Hope will be a restorative candlelight yoga practice for the mind, body and soul. It is the result of a collaboration of inspirational yoga instructors and local musicians. We invite all those to participate who have lost a loved one or were touched somehow by the effects of brain cancer.

“I lost my husband, Mark to brain cancer last April. This is a healthy way for us to honor his memory while connecting with others who are going through a similar experience. At the same time, we are supporting a worthy cause,” says Mary Ellen Spiers, event organizer.

The yoga session will be led by local instructors Kim Pacitti, Bernadette Ritzel, Kim Bray, Sally DePamphilis Maria Provenzano, Isabel Allen and assisted by many others from local yoga studios.

Live music will be provided, acoustic guitar by Tom Pacitti and violin by Bill McMeniman. Participation fee is $25, which includes a 75 minute yoga session. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. and the yoga session begins at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.
