Spring begins a new venue for artists and artisans to display their work and fine craft on Third Friday, April 20, from 6 to 9 p.m.  An “Artists’ Alley” will be set up in the parking lot fronting on High and Vine Street adjacent to the Arts District’s new office location at 321 N. High Street.  Live music will also be a part of the “alley!”  Executive Director, Marianne Lods, said “With the availability of plenty of space, we have invited six artists to show their original work while adding another interesting venue for our visitors to explore while enjoying the monthly art event.”  The artists participating in April are from southern New Jersey and will be new to many of the regular attendees of the 11 year Third Friday night.

In anticipation of Millville’s Levoy Theater’s reopening, the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts and the Levoy Theater Preservation Society will be collaborating in a show celebrating film and the performing arts.  This show will feature numerous historical photos and artifacts from the theater, as well as art in a variety of media from regional artists.  Showing in the Witt gallery is art from students in Millville public schools on the theme of multicultural awareness. In the Associate Artist Alcove, artists Meed Barnett and Paul Amarato will be displaying recent paintings.  The atrium will feature Dr. Brian M. Kutner, a Vineland resident, formerly from Millville, who will be showing photographs with an industrial theme based on two subjects: ten pictures from his album entitled “Tanks, Wheatons, for the Memories” and four pictures from the album “A Stroll Around Industrial Baltimore”. The opening reception will be held on Friday, April 20 from 6 to 9PM at the center, located at 22 N. High Street, Millville, NJ. The shows run through May 14.
