Georgia’s 5 Favs: Green Monsters and 4 Other Things I’m Into Right Now

1. Green Monster
A green monster is a smoothie. Made from spinach. Don't judge before you try one! I know it sounds gross, but it's actually really good. And so good for you! And that goes a long way around this time of year... When I drink these smoothies for a couple days, (I usually make them for breakfast) my skin looks great. Smooth, bright and full of life. Try a green monster today, you'll love them as much as I do. And they don't taste like spinach, I promise. They taste like bananas and peanut butter. Here's my recipe - but you can really add anything you want, oranges, apples, kale or romaine....
Green Monster (serves one)
1 1/2 cups baby spinach
1 banana
1/2 cup fat free milk
1/2 orange juice
A couple ice cubes
1 Tbsp peanut butter
Blend the whole thing up until it's super smooth. Enjoy!
2. Homemade Italian Giardiniera
My father in law has been making his own giardiniera for a while now. But this was the first year that I attempted a small batch for myself. Giardiniera is an Italian condiment made from cured, pickled vegetables. It's always out for any occasion at my in laws house. It's delicious on bread and on pasta. It's spicy and yummy. I received a sample of this lip gloss in my Birchbox a few months ago. The first time I tried it, I bought it. It's the perfect sweet, pink, sheer, gloss. It's not sticky, it stays on for a long time and it doesn't smell bad. I hate it when a good gloss smells bad! It's a little pricey, but I'm still using my sample size tube after over a month, so a little goes a long way.
4. Duck Dynasty
If you have not seen this show yet, please find it on A&E. My friend Amy told me about Duck Dynasty a few weeks back. And. I. Cannot. Get. Enough. It's about the Robertson family who live in Monroe, Louisiana. They have built a multimillion dollar business from making duck calls out of cedar wood from Louisiana. Yes, those good old boys with the crazy beards are millionaires. And the fact that you would never know that (with the exception of their expensive vehicles or their wives....) is what makes the show great. Uncle Si (the last guy on the right in the picture above) is by far my favorite fella of the group. Hey! Happy happy happy! Watch new episodes on Wednesday nights on A&E, you will not be disappointed.
This stuff is awesome! Unfortunately the closest Trader Joe's is in Marlton.... That doesn't stop me from driving all the way up there to load up! I have a long list of Trader Joe's products that I can't live without, but for now, this coconut body butter will have to do. It's new and it's smells soooo good. I have to use body butter in the Winter because my skin gets so dry. I should have bought a couple of these babies. Now I have to drive all the way back to Marlton! But it's worth it!
