Following the recent string of casino closures, Governor Christie discussed the future of Atlantic City on last night's Ask The Governor program.

The wide-ranging segment covered everything from the recent casino closures to sports betting to welcoming Donald Trump back to town. Christie says the bedrock of Atlantic City was built when it had a monopoly on casino gaming, now 40 states have some type of casino gaming. As a result, Atlantic City had to downsize. Christie says Atlantic City continues to transition into something beyond a gaming destination. As for a casino in North Jersey, Christie said it's an option that's on the table, but any casinos outside of where they are now would have to support Atlantic City.
