An apparent shooting early Sunday morning as two men walked into the Absecon Police Department, telling officers they had been shot at while stopped at a traffic light.

Police say just before 2:30am Sunday, two men entered the Absecon Municipal Complex and told officers that at approximately 1:45am, they were shot at while their vehicle was stopped at a red light on Turner Avenue, near Absecon Boulevard.

According to the police report:

A LIGHT COLORED SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE (POSSIBLY WHITE, BEIGE OR SILVER) REPORTEDLY PULLED OFF OF ABSECON BOULEVARD AND AN UNIDENTIFIED GUNMAN EXITED THE VEHICLE AND OPENED FIRE. THE VICTIMS’ VEHICLE WAS STRUCK MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THE VICTIMS WERE ABLE TO FLEE THE SCENE. NEITHER VICTIM WAS STRUCK HOWEVER MULTIPLE SHELL CASINGS AND BULLET FRAGMENTS WERE RECOVERED. THE SHOOTER WAS DESCRIBED AS A LIGHT SKINNED BLACK OR HISPANIC MALE WEARING A MAROON COLORED HOODED SWEATSHIRT. THE DIRECTION OF FLIGHT WAS UNKNOWN.
