Just about everyone in South Jersey remembers the day that four Mainland Regional High School football players were killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway. Now, one family who lost their son is dealing items that were stolen from a memorial.

Casey Brenner was one of four football players killed in a tragic accident on the Garden State Parkway several summers ago. To honor is memory, a bench with solar powered flowers in planters that would illuminate at night was created in Northfield. WPVI-TV reports that sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning someone stole the planters.

In an interview with the station, Casey's dad, John, called the act sad and disheartening. He says he just wants them back, no questions asked.

The same night three other memorial benches in the area also had planters stolen.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Northfield police at (609) 641-3122.
