What can make Kenny Chesney‘s nine ACM nominations even better? How about having his chart-topping hit, ‘You and Tequila,’ being certified platinum!

Chesney’s fans just can’t seem to get enough of his duet with Grace Potter, which has now sold over a million digital downloads. The song is also responsible for Chesney’s multiple ACM nods including Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year, as well as two Grammy’s for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song.

Fans who are lucky enough to catch Chensey on the road this summer with Tim McGraw on their Brothers of the Sun tour will be able to hear the duet live, as Potter is on the bill as one of the opening acts. After all, it’s only fitting to play the song on the tour, as the road is where Chesney was first introduced to the song. During the summer of 2003, Chesney’s opening act, Deana Carter, played the song each night, which she recorded on her own album and co-wrote with hit songwriter Matreca Berg.

“It’s thrilling to know that Deana and Matraca’s beautiful song has reached so many people,” says Chesney. “And the fact that a half-million tickets has already been sold for the Brothers of the Sun tour makes me wants to get back on the road and give each crowd the best spring break party of their lives.”

The Brothers of the Sun tour will also feature opener Jake Owen. The tour is set to kick off in June. Click here for a complete list of dates where the tour will be stopping.
