Man Arrested, 9mm Semi-Automatic Gun Seized in Lower Township

Lower Township police arrested a man and seized a 9mm semi-automatic handgun Tuesday afternoon.

Around 5:00 Tuesday afternoon, police responded to Bentz Avenue in Villas for a report of a man brandishing a handgun. The information was reported by a motorist who was stopped by a Lower Township Police Officer just after the incident occurred.

A subsequent investigation led to the execution of a search warrant where a 9mm semi automatic handgun was seized.

40-year-old Jeffrey D. Larsen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and a certain persons not to possess weapons violation. Larsen was lodged in the Cape May County Correction Facility in default of $150,000 bail.
