A 29 year old man was arrested in Northfield only 20 minutes after being released from jail.

Saturday afternoon (March 25) Gary Corliss, 29 year old man from Egg Harbor City, was arrested after crashing his car into a utility pole. Corliss crashed his Volkswagen Passat then attempted to flee the scene. Police found him hiding in some bushes with a marijuana pipe in his possession.

Corliss was taken into custody, processed, and released. Twenty minutes later police received calls saying Corliss was in residents' backyards. The Egg Harbor City man was digging up drugs he had hidden. Police found him with heroin and a hypodermic syringe.

Corliss was charged with multiple drug offenses including: possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, tampering with evidence. and trespassing.
